Jeff Lynne’s ELO have announced the cancellation of their autumn 2020 UK and European tour because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Eponymous frontman Jeff Lynne and his ELO band mates were due to play a total of seven UK arena dates on the From Out of Nowhere Tour.

As part of a larger European tour throughout September and October, the UK leg was scheduled to open at London’s The O2 on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th October before taking in two nights at Birmingham Arena (Sunday 11th and Tuesday 13th October).

They were then due to play shows at Manchester Arena (Friday 16th October), Belfast SSE Arena (Sunday 18th October) and Glasgow The SSE Hydro (Wednesday 21st October).

Commenting on the cancellation, Jeff Lynne said: “It’s with deep regret and sadness that I have to cancel my upcoming October UK tour, but due to the ongoing and unprecedented situation the live shows cannot go ahead as planned.

“The safety of everyone including my crew, the people who work in support of the shows and of course you, the fans, must come first. Keep well & stay safe’.
